Hi, my name is Sophie. I am 13 years old. My mom, some friends and I went to the Women's March in LA on January 21, 2017.

That day was a day I will never forget. I loved the feeling of speaking my mind along with everyone else who cared so much that they flooded the streets around the world. I wanted my voice to be heard. And even though my voice may be small, I felt powerful.

I came home that day wishing that I had something that could show how I felt and what I thought.

So I begged and begged and begged and begged…and begged my mom for a pink hat to wear to school.  But she said that some of the accessories were not practical for everyday use.

So that’s when I came up with an idea… The Power Pom.

I wanted to make something that I could wear, all the time, every day, to show how I felt. I wanted my voice to be heard.  And I wanted all of my friends and family and everyone else to be able to show how they feel and have their voices heard, too.  I showed my idea to my parents. They thought it was a really great idea and they said would help me bring my idea to life.

But I wanted to do more.  I wanted to make a difference. My mom and I talked about it and I decided that since 51% of the US population is female…we would to give 51% of the profits to Planned Parenthood LA as way to support the health of women and girls!

You can put The Power Pom on your backpack, purse, stroller, briefcase, bike…anywhere you like.  My hope is that everyone everywhere will want a Power Pom too, to show their support for girls and women and what we believe in every day.

Get your Pom on now and let your voice be heard. #THEPOWERPOM!
